MISSION STATEMENT: 'Excellence in Education and Training'
This Charter sets out The HENLEY College’s commitments to students, employers, parents and the wider community. Our aim is to deliver a high quality service and this document outlines what you can expect from us as minimum standards. OUR COMMITMENTS
Before you join the College
You will be provided with general information on:
- the programmes and qualifications offered
- teaching and learning facilities
Information about your learning programme will be available covering:
- entry requirements
- teaching/learning approaches
- costs or charges
- arrangements for assessment
- outcomes and progression routes
Information will be available on request covering:
- accommodation
- arrangements for students with learning difficulties or disability
- likely group size
- destinations of leavers
- examination results
- fees and financial assistance
- inspection reports
- learning and learner support
- transport arrangements.
You will be given the opportunity to:
- visit and tour the College
- discuss your learning requirements
- have a guidance interview
- receive objective advice and guidance
Your application will be dealt with efficiently following published procedures.
When you join the College
- You will be enrolled in accordance with procedures published by the College.
- As a full-time student you will take part in a Welcome Day programme to help you find your way around the College and locate its facilities and to find out more about your course and how it works in practice.
At College
As a full-time student you will:
- have the support of a personal tutor
- receive advice, guidance and regular reports on your progress
- receive information on catering, recreational and other facilities
- receive information on progression and career opportunities
As a part-time student:
- You will be given a handbook describing College facilities and services available to you.
You will be entitled to expect:
- classes to start and end on time
- to be given notice of foreseeable changes to your classes
- a high standard of teaching from qualified staff
- accredited, coherent programmes of study
- assessment within published times
- access to work experience where relevant
- learning and learner support including study skills
- discussion and/or renegotiation of your learning programme
- opportunities for counselling
- a pleasant learning environment which meets health and safety requirements
- access to information and advice on progression routes
- a caring, safe and supportive atmosphere.
On completion of your course
You will be entitled to accreditation of your achievement.
If you are an employer, or from the local community, we will endeavour to provide you with:
- courses and facilities available at the College
- detailed references and information on student applicants as required
- results and College performance in examinations and on courses
- progress reports on employees as appropriate
- information on work experience students in line with the work experience policy.
We will play a responsible, responsive part in the life of the community by:
- developing links with the community and employers
- making our facilities available
- establishing links, on agreed terms, with community groups and through employers and their networks

Maintaining Standards
“The HENLEY College Quality Characteristics for Students and other Customers” sets out in detail the College’s Quality Characteristics and Standards. This document also indicates how and when these standards are measured and who has responsibility for ensuring each standard is met. If something goes wrong
We will deal with your problem courteously and efficiently. Our aim is to provide a quality service to students, parents, employers and other customers. If you are unhappy about some aspects of College life, or our education and training provision, we hope that you will raise the issue with us and give us the opportunity of putting it right. Please ask for our complaints procedure or just contact us with your complaint.
