IB Mathematics: Standard Level and Studies

The Mathematics Standard Level course caters for students who anticipate a need for a sound mathematical background in preparation for their future studies.  It would suit students who expect to go on to study subjects which have a significant mathematical content, for example, Chemistry, Geography, Psychology and Business Administration.

The Mathematical Studies course teaches skills needed to cope with the demands of a technological society and places emphasis on the application of mathematics to real-life situations.

Both courses are assessed by two written examination papers at the end of the course.  In addition, a portfolio of two assignments is compiled for the Mathematics course, and a project is written for the Mathematical Studies course.
