Manufacturing Engineering: First Diploma

This one year course is an ideal foundation course giving you a vocational qualification. Successful students achieving merit grade may progress to the National Diploma course in Manufacturing Engineering or Communications Technology. Other progression routes include a Traineeship or employment or to other National Diploma courses eg Social Studies (Public Service) or Media Studies.

This course offers you an ideal introduction to the wide field of Engineering. You will study a range of subjects including: Mechanical and Electrical Science, Working Practices, Materials, CNC, Engineering Information, Mathematics, English, Engineering Drawing and Computer Aided Drawing.

During the year you must successfully complete 9 units in the approved combination for the award of a First Diploma. Grades of Merit and Distinction can also be awarded for modules where students achieve the required standards of performances.

You will be assessed by continuous methods, coursework, assignments, projects and tests.
