An Introduction to Practical Marketing for Small Businesses

Do you manage or plan to start a small business? Would you like to get your marketing foundation right before committing your communications budget? This new course, designed and presented by an experienced marketer, is based on classic marketing disciplines, and provides real life tools and techniques – used by large, successful companies but relevant to any business.

Before spending money on your communications, learn which questions are crucial and how these might be answered. By the end of the course, you will have a better understanding of your market, customers and competition, be able to write a practical value proposition and an elementary marketing plan which can be used to get the maximum benefit from your marketing or communications budget.

As we will be using some computer-based tools, it would be useful if students can bring their own laptops, preferably with Microsoft Office installed. Notes and handouts will be provided during most sessions.
