This course offers an excellent preparation for those wishing to pursue a career in the Public Sector.  It also offers a chance to study a wide range of subjects which enables you to keep your options open for the future, including Higher Education.

In the first year you will study a range of core and option units which include Human Behaviour, Citizenship and Contemporary Issues, Teamwork and Leadership, which are major transferable skills, as well as Major Incidents: how they are dealt with, and what causes disasters.

Year Two modules include Criminology,  Law and the Legal System, International Perspectives and the Democratic Process and units which build and extend the learning from Year One.

This course will enhance your Communication and Leadership Skills and is assessed mainly through coursework. You will have the opportunity to carry out your own research on the local area and to address issues such as equal opportunities and cultural awareness.

You will take part in a multi-activity residential course where you are tested on your initiative, leadership, communication and teamwork skills.  Other visits will be made, as relevant, to service and connected organisations.
