Faculty of Humanities
Humanities are very popular at The HENLEY College and with the wide range of subjects and very successful students, it can be seen as a centre of academic excellence in this field. There are a large combination of subjects available to make up a full academic programme.
The Humanities are taught in new modern classrooms and involve regular visits: Geography and Environmental Studies students go on fieldwork, usually to South Wales, Law students to the Old Bailey and the Royal Courts of Justice, while Classics and Philosophy students go to Greece or Italy and History students visit Berlin or Italy.
Guest speakers often visit the College and recent ones have included the poets Benjamin Zephaniah, Tom Paulin and Fleur Adcock.
Students who have studied the Humanities are now studying at the best universities in the country, including Oxford and Cambridge.
