Spanish Students Visit Seville 2010

Seville 2010

In February this year twenty-one students of Spanish visitied Seville, the highlight of which was a masterclass in flamenco dance. They didn't become experts but deserved full marks for enthusiasm!

The visit included palaces, museums, churches and the bullring (no bulls present though!). There was still time for a 'desayuno' of chocolate con churros and, of course, tapas and paella in the evening.

Visit to Seville - Spring 2004

Students on the International Baccalaureate, GCSE and AS courses enjoyed springtime in Seville again this year. Arriving in the wake of the March 11th bombings and political aftermath was a significant experience as they were able to see the serious repercussions of the incident for the country.

In spite of the situation, they were able to enjoy the city in full, visiting the Moorish Palace, the Cathedral, Bullring and the Roman Ruins of Italica, to name only a few of the sights. The group was particularly enthusiastic about speaking Spanish and the 'beginners' students amongst the group frequently enjoyed trying out the language.

The exotic atmosphere of the city impressed the students; even people from other parts of Spain find the Moorish architecture and colourfully tiled patios unique to the city.

Henley College students went on an expedition which included visiting prehistoric caves in Nerja, the city of Malaga, a typical whitewashed hillside village and a day in Granada.
