The majority of the work is practical in nature, with an opportunity to produce an extended body of work in a particular area (chosen by the student) in the second year.
Students will:
- Write scripts and then film them
- Combine photography and animation
- Take the above skills into the community to produce work with employers, charities, organisations, etc
- Create work to a commission
- Investigate the work of artists and practitioners who combine disciplines
- Produce ‘media rich’ websites
- Produce an Extended Project, developing an area of interest
- Develop their Functional Skills and Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
The course is about experimentation, developing imagination and expressing thoughts and ideas through visual media.
Students do not need to have experience in the areas given above, but an interest in Photography, Film and IT is essential.
When all parts of the course are successfully completed, the qualification is equivalent to 3.5 A Levels.
