Creative Media Production:
Extended Diploma

This is a very exciting, state-of-the-art course that offers students the opportunity to work and develop their skills in new media technologies. Students are encouraged to experiment, develop their imagination and express thoughts and ideas through visual and aural media.

The course content will enable students to combine the following disciplines:

  • Film
  • Audio production & music technology
  • Photography & animation
  • Interactive Media
  • Scriptwriting

The majority of the work is practical in nature, with an opportunity to produce an extended body of work in a particular area (chosen by the student) in the second year.

Students will:

  • Write scripts and film them
  • Create and manipulate sounds
  • Combine music/audio and moving images
  • Take their skills into the community to produce work with employers, charities, organisations, etc
  • Create work to a commission
  • Investigate the work of prominent practitioners and artists
  • Produce ‘media rich’ websites

Students do not need to have experience in the areas given above, but an interest in Film and/or Music/Sound Production and IT is essential.
