Promoting scientific achievement, and thereby encouraging pupils to think about studying for Science qualifications, is important.
VISIT FROM RUSSIAN COSMONAUTS
April 2005
The College was pleased to pupils from Years 10 and 11 of its Partner Schools (Chiltern Edge, Gillotts and Langtree) to a talk by a Russian Cosmonaut, Alexander Volkov and his colleague Alexander Martynov, who is Head of International Relations at Space City Korolev in Russia.
The Russian visitors talked about work and life in space, and the real possibility of a Manned Mission to Mars.
We were also delighted that pupils from Year 6 in local Primary Schools in Henley (Badgemore Community School, Trinity CE School and Valley Road School) were able to come to a similar talk later in the day.

As well as these local events, and as part of its wider-reaching Beacon activities, the College has been able to help Stourbridge College arrange a talk from the Russians immediately after their visit to Henley.
