MUSIC FOR THE MOVING IMAGE - Guy Dagul, Dr Jonathan Williams & Nick Hooper
October 2005

A fascinating day of guest speakers with particular expertise on this theme. Pupils from our four Partner Schools were invited to share the day with our own students.

Guy arranges music for Divertimento. He studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, embarking on a career arranging and composing in the film and entertainment industry. After spending some time working in Hollywood on major feature films, he now has his own studio near Oxford where he produces music for many TV programmes. He is also a pianist in a number of bands which play Jazz, Dixieland, Latin Dance and Rock Covers.

Jonathan became involved in writing for computer games via conducting and teaching orchestration at Oxford University, from where he received his PhD with a thesis on French Baroque music.

Nick is an award-winning composer for numerous BBC dramas (State of Play,
Messiah 3) and wildlife documentaries.
