WEBSITE WORKSHOP- WHAT DOES YOUR WEBSITE SAY ABOUT YOU?
June 2005

The HENLEY College was pleased to offer some informal training in creating and maintaining a school or college website. The training was based around Microsoft Front Page for those who wish to create their own website, and also gave a few hints on how to maintain an 'off the peg' template website that many schools have bought into.

The morning session was led by Geoff Pollitt, and the contents included:

  • How to create the pages
  • How to get information onto the page
  • The balance of text and graphics
  • How to set up links
  • Dos and Don'ts

College Webmaster, Robyn Vitty, led the afternoon session focusing on maintaining online information and assessing the effectiveness of your website. Attendees were encouraged to investigate navigation, timeliness and relevance of information provided, and possible ideas for making their websites more appealing to the visitor.
