The Level 5 Diploma is a 48 week course and has been designed to take a practical approach to the application of knowledge necessary to become a successful teacher.
You are expected to demonstrate at least 100 hours of teaching. This can include any recent teaching you have carried out which must be supported by evidence such as session plans, schemes of work and any other official documentation. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded a Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training from City & Guilds. Teachers can then progress with their professional development by working towards QTLS (Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills).
You are required to have a Level 2 qualification in English (or equivalent). You do not need a specific Mathematics qualification to join this course, however you should be aware that teaching professionals should be qualified to Level 2 equivalent. All applicants will be interviewed prior to enrolment.
