Level 4 Early Years Advanced Practitioner

The Level 4 Certificate takes the knowledge and skills of the learner and challenges them in both their daily practice and theoretical understanding.  It also supports learners in a position of leadership within the setting e.g. Room Leader.  This qualification is designed for qualified staff who are looking to develop leadership and specialist skills for use in their current role, or in preparation to take on a specialist role such as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator or Physical Activity and Nutrition Coordinator.  Learners must complete 5 mandatory units and a selection of optional units to achieve the qualification.

 

Mandatory Units
  • Enabling children to learn
  • Promoting health and well-being through physical activity and nutrition co-ordination (PANCo) in the early years
  • Working to support children with additional needs, including Special Education Needs and Disability
  • Working with families and other professionals in early years settings
  • Implementing change in an early years setting incorporating a small scale research project.
Duration 12 months
Training
  • On-off induction
  • Bi-monthly college workshops and work-based supported learning
  • On-the-job assessments
Suitable For: Learners aged 18 and over who are currently employed as a Level 3 Practitioner.  Learners must be working in a mentoring role such as a room leader, in management or be responsible for students.
