Level 4 Certificate for the Advanced Practitioner in Schools and Colleges

This qualification has been designed for those with more responsibilities in a school or college setting.  It includes supporting mental health and wellbeing, working with those with additional needs or disabilities and implementing change through a small scale research project.  Learners must complete 5 mandatory units to achieve the qualification.

 

Mandatory Units:
  • Enabling individuals to learn
  • Understand how to support children and young people to improve their mental health and welbeing
  • Working with others to support individuals with additional needs and disability in a school or college setting
  • Working with families and other professionals in a school or college setting
  • Implementing change in school or college setting
Duration 13 months
Training:
  • One-off induction
  • Monthly college workshops and work-based supported learning
  • On-the-job assesssments
Suitable For: Those who have completed the Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning and have been working as a teaching assistant for some time with responsibility for coaching and mentoring team members.
