A course to provide shore-based instruction on basic seamanship and navigation for the RYA syllabus over a 20 week period. It is primarily for those involved in small craft handling in tidal waters, but sea anglers, divers and those who wish to know how to navigate through basic and electronic chart work will benefit from the course. Previous practical experience is useful, but not essential. During the course you will complete a number of navigational exercises and other papers. Topics will include basic and electronic navigation, pilotage, weather, tides, collision regulations, rope work and safety.
