£50 per year for textbooks, calculator and exam materials. Students will require the Casio fx-991 EX CLASSWIZ, which teachers will be demonstrating how to use throughout the year. However students may prefer to purchase a graphical calculator which has even more functionality and can also be used in class and in exams. Therefore we also recommend the Casio fx-CG50 graphical calculator. A Level mathematics is 2/3rd’s pure and 1/3rd applied mathematics, you will study areas including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, logarithms and exponentials, statistics and mechanics.
You are also encouraged to supplement your programme with the Extended Project.

A key course for students planning to continue on to university to study
subjects including mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering (mechanical, chemical and civil) and economics. It also provides a strong grounding for those wishing to pursue many other subject areas at degree level, ranging from accountancy and architecture to computing and science.
Last year students went on to various destinations including university places at Cambridge, Bournemouth, Coventry, Kingston, Oxford Brookes, Cardiff, Southampton, Canterbury, York, Exeter, Swansea, Warwick, Reading, Keele and Leeds.
Alternatively, students may consider direct entry into employment or
further training.

I came to The Henley College from Poland to pursue my love of Rowing. I am able to row and continue with my education through the Elite Sports Programme. I receive coaching and training from the Leander Club whilst also studying my A Levels. I’m also really passionate about Mathematics, I enjoy solving challenging tasks, learning about new things and having my abilities tested. I hope to get excellent A Level grades at College and then go onto university to study maths with financing or computer science.
I find it really exciting when I’m able to solve difficult and challenging maths problems and I really enjoy getting the answers right. Studying Mathematics at The Henley College has really built up my academic confidence.
