Course Overview

Offering an integrated approach to the study of language and literature, this course, which is highly regarded by all universities (as a facilitating subject) and by employers (as evidence of high level analytical and creative skills), emphasises the development of expertise in writing in a wide variety of genres as well as exposure to a range of literary set texts, making it particularly attractive to students who wish to build on their success in both Subjects at GCSE.

Coursework (20%) Exam (80%)

Duration: 2 years
Entry requirements:

Standard entry requirements plus grade 5 in GCSE English Language and English Literature and grade 4 Maths. 

Exam board: Edexcel
Costs:

£30 per year for textbooks plus optional theatre trips.
