Intermediate Apprenticeship in Hairdressing - Level 2 

The Intermediate Apprenticeship covers all the basics of hairdressing. Hairdressing apprentices work as a Salon Junior, assisting senior staff while training as a Junior Stylist. Duties are likely to include booking appointments, shampooing, conditioning, drying and styling hair, and mixing and applying hair colour.

The Level 2 will take approximately 18 months to complete. To complete the Apprenticeship, apprentices have the choice of College or in salon supported workplace learning and have regular work-based assessments.

Apprenticeship includes:

Career Paths include Salon Stylist, Photographic Session Stylist, Freelance Hairdresser, Salon Owner, working on cruise ships and in hotels, Assessor, Teacher, Technician or Manager.

 

Advanced Apprenticeship in Hairdressing - Level 3

Advanced apprentices take their learning a step further by developing their cutting and colouring skills so they can carry out all the latest fashion techniques and maybe even determine the fashion looks for the future. This Apprenticeship route is a good stepping stone to a Level 4 Diploma in Salon Management or a Foundation Degree.

The Level 3 will take approximately 12 months to complete. To complete the Apprenticeship, apprentices have the choice of College or in salon supported workplace learning and have regular work-based assessments.
